Greetings,
Please see the pics below. Hubby brought them home tonight from work; he just didn't have the heart to throw them out. And, frankly, I don't blame him!
Can anyone give me an idea of a time period, make, and value? We didn't find any markings. Thanks!

Can you take a pic of the dovetails on the drawer sides of both ??
-
Darn, my computer is acting weird !!
-
One ahead of ya, mart. Could only attach 4 pics with the original post. The first pic is of the side table. The second of the chest.
-
Thanks !! You are learning !! Now the back of each please !!
-
Back of the drawers? Or back of the body?
-
Body !! And look underneath each to see if there is a style number written !!
-
Here are the pics: first is of the side table, second the chest. (Like you couldn't tell that from the legs! Duh!) We checked every nook and cranny--no markings.
-
How are the legs on the table attached !! I know I am asking for a lot of stuff,, sorry,,but with furniture sometimes you have to !!
-
Hubby is sleeping, but here are the best pics I can get. There really is no way of getting one's head inside to get a good look. ;) Oh, and the little drawers? The left one has "L/H" written on it, and the right one "R/H".
I appreciate your help!

Left hand, Right hand drawer !!
-
Yeah, we figured that out. But those are the only markings that we can find on either piece.
-
What does your husband do to have "found" these ??
-
Hubby is a maintenance supervisor (actually, at this property, he is the only maintenance person there) for an apartment complex. So, when people move, get evicted, etc. and leave stuff behind, he gets to pick through the left overs. Of course, he has to empty the stuff out and most of it winds up in the dumpster (what the property doesn't donate or give away to other people). But he has come home with some REALLY nice things: that clock I posted about, a few depression glass items, a couple of real wood tv armoires (sp?), and loads of vintage costume jewelry.
-
Good job !! Tell him to hang on to that one !! These appear to be pretty good quality repros !! Likely made by the same company looking at the dovetails !! The dovetails are done old style almost in the English method but appear to be machine cut !! The chest is similar to Sheraton revival chests and looks like the same woods were used as they did back then !! Mahogany and Maple !! But it lacks some of the style of Sheraton,,almost has a country or farmhouse look !! This happened a lot in the early 60`s !! I think the same woods were used on the Queen Anne table or commode but can`t see close enough to tell !! The top table could be anywhere from 1940`s through 60`s !! Chest is earlier and is likely from the 30`s !! Both of these probably came from the same family !!

Thanks, Mart! I will let hubby know in the morning. He's the wood worker and all-around handyman.
The first pic is of a pine blanket chest he made me. The next two are of another 'find'. Although it wasn't free. We traded a never used bicycle for it. It is now filled with Carnival Glass. :D
Thanks again for sharing your expertise. Have a great weekend!

Mart,
Did you notice the key holes on the chest drawers? This pic is of the lock from the inside of the drawer. Does that help any?
-
Oh, Yes I saw them !! Back then everything had keyholes !! Odd thing is,,out of all the furniture like that I have handled, owned, bought, sold or seen,, I have maybe seen two that still had the key !! I used to buy all the skeleton keys I could find in hopes they would fit something I had !! Just tell hubby not to refinish these,, !!
