Hey guys,
Thanks for looking at my last post and letting me know that it wasn't a good buy. I found this Imari Charger today and think that the colors are really strange. I just snapped a picture of the front to see if you guys knew the style of design or when this design most likely was produced. They are asking $95 for it so I am (again) hesitant on buying it since it is a style of Imari I am not really well versed in. Thanks so much for all of the help. Take care.

here,s hundreds of images of Imari blue/white chargers....but can,t see this one

Yeah I tried looking all over Google. Nothing even matched the color scheme...
-
Have they really put 1915 on the charger ?!
Might be Japanese ( shape would suggest so ) but it's not Imari or Artita as we know it.
Just a bad transfer print.

It says that it was made around 1910 on the price tag. I didn't get a picture of the bottom but it has some pretty good age to it. I really like it even if it isn't Imari/Arita. Can't really justify spending $95 on it though unless it was worth that.

If in doubt leave it out....

Cant see it well but if it were me and I wanted it,,I would just make an offer !! All shops have an asking price and a taking price !! In this economy,, if its a fair offer and he makes a profit he would be stupid not to take it and keep his merchandise moving and fresh !! He probably has $20. in it !!

Mart,is right on with her advice....its a buyers market in almost everything,...just last week i was watch this item...the seller had a start price of £99.99..and a Buy it now of £350 .for 6 days it had a Reserve not Met notice on it,..then with 14 hours to go the Reserve was lifted,.....with 5 secs to go i bid the start price,...and won it....This model cost well over £600 to build....

Well i can't see the back but i'd say it was more modern than 1915. The colours and design are wrong for that period.
It's not horrific ;D but the transfer seems quite poor in places ?
Wouldn't mind seeing the back because there's a chance they've just got the wrong location and have claimed it's Imari because of the shape and the rooster, although they aren't exactly common on Imari and Arita

I would like to see the back too !! That can usually tell you as much or more than the front can !!
-
Mart, You always like the bottoms. lol
-
;D Sorry,, I just can`t help it !!! Learned a long time ago that its what you can`t see that really counts !!

Not typical Imari. Bottom or no bottom! ;D I would be curious though, and anyway I like a good bottom once in a while.
