We were at our monthly auction last week, and these pieces caught our eye...your thoughts and values?..The dressing table is in Walnut, the Occasional table is Mahogany the half moon cabinet is Elm..and the sideboard is Oak,all the pieces ar early 20th century...

You want to know what they are worth here ?? The dressing table looks in good condition,, if it is as good as it looks would be between $150. and $200. The occasional table,, around $100. or a bit less, the Queen Anne demilune with that wood would likely sell best at around $300. or a bit more. The oak sideboard,,$200. to $250. !! That is with all in good to excellent condition and hardware intact !!

Images aren't great but they could be as little as
50-70 or more - dressing tables are very hit and miss in my experience
60-90
80-120 unusual in elm.
The sideboard looks like it has a few knocks ? £100+. Has got a nice a&c look about it though. Like a cheap Shapland and Peter. If it was there's it'd be £300-500.

I would not have guessed the Queen Anne demilune was made of Elm.
Of course, I don't think there was very much furniture made of Elm here in the US.
And the Dutch Elm disease has now pretty much killed all the trees.

Agree. Doubt it's of the period and i'd have said mahogany

You are correct about the half moon cabinet it is in fact Mahogany....as to the prices...would it surprise you all that each of these items, had a pre auction estimate of £20/£30 per item ...all 4 pieces sold for £125 + 20% buyers commision...the pieces were in good condition, all were pre-1930....prices up here in Scotland especially on the east coast in the smaller towns are ridiculously low,..there was an Ercol extending dining table + 8 chairs,..that ..would have cost a £1000+ 20 years ago....it sold for £190+20% commision...t...we paid £38here was also a 3 piece Leather Chesterfield suite that consisted of a 3 seater club sofa, a club chair and a high backed smoking chair,it was not one of the modern ones that you see in furniture shops, this one was by a good maker, it was 30+ years old,...and it sold for £48 ....Avril and I just a few months ago got 2 x 2 seater sofa,s in Faux suede they are teal blue, and like new....£2 for the 2...yes £2...and just last year we got this modern 3 seater Leather Sofa with matching leather footstool, it was from a Showhouse,we paid £38 + commision,..the new cost at that time was £1099,for the sofa and £499 for the footstool,..see link..the price of the sofa is now over £1200 the one pictured is the exact same as what we got...
