This item is with my mum so I will have to ask her and write it tomorrow.

But do you know if the mark underneath is actual mark? And what could that mean?  ???

Mart,

The saying is...golden anniversary!   zur goldenen Hochzeit! ...from http://german.about.com/od/idiomsandproverbs/tp/Congratulations-In-German.htm

The raised mark seems to be similar to the one shown here: http://www.rubylane.com/item/1122130-23-18/German-Oval-Reticulated-Floral-Handpainted
Although that one has a maker mark. Could this have been a special piece made to order? Or done by one of the workers for their parents?

That's all I've found.

Thanks Dogaman,, !! I couldn`t enlarge it enough !!  That is not a makers mark on bottom !! The raised mark is part of the mold !! Other one mat have been the decorators mark !! These were likely mass made stock items !!

Mart,

I didn't enlarge it all. I merely could make out the first word and then looked for a German phrase web page.;) After I found a phrase which had "Goldenen" in it, I matched the rest of the phrase with your pic.

Glad to help!
