Title: Need help identifying IRON

Hello, today i bought old ceramic iron. It cost me 2$. So now i need your help. I want to know when it was created approximately and value.
All i know it's BASSANO MADE IN ITALY.  :)

Most of the hinged items similar to this were for soap dishes !!
