This symbol/saying has been an "unofficial" Catholic tradition since that date (aka Miraculous Medal).  So that date is put on items made even today....so it doesn't really date an item!  It is when the "viewing of the miracle" occurred.  The first medal was made in 1832 and distributed in Paris.

Your locket is most likely from early to mid 1900's.

Oops...forgot to ask...what kind of material is the red interior made of?  Plastic/bakelite?
(To show how "out of it" I am today with a bubbling house full of family...I originally put cellulite instead of Bakelite and had to change it! LOLOL  That would be gross!)
