I bought my house 5 years ago and I have two lamp shades like this, the owner of the house claims it is from when he was a little boy in the 1920's. Any ideas?

Pic is not very good for detail but appears to be a slag glass shade from the Art Nouveau period,,1920`s !! Nice shades !!

slag glass..slung glass.......where do you get these names from.....over here these words conjure up entirely different means,....and in Poland...slag is something that you can eat....or use to cover another kind of slag....then ..eat it..if you were that way inclined....

Looks like whipped cream to me !!

you got it in one....now for our definition of slag...or a slag.... ;D
Slag is a pejorative slang term, primarily used in United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and Australia, to describe women who often engage in casual sex and promiscuous behaviour. Its meaning is broadly similar to the terms "slut" and "skank". It originally derives from the same term for piles of impurities skimmed off iron ore when smelting.....

is it worth anything?

Gas Lamp? Not sure how that would work, I think it was always electric, perhaps with the bulb holders changed over, but anyway, Caramel slag glass lamp with glass beading, 1920's. Worth $200-$300 here on the west coast of Canada. Value depends on your locale. If you have lots of folks restoring houses of that vintage they are worth more. GG

Prices aren`t bad but you never know what they will actually sell for !! These are asking prices !! Asking and getting are two different things !! Good thing is you have a pair (assuming they match) if they can be used with table lamps even better !!
Are they in good condition ??

They are in perfect condition, one is hanging in my Kitchen and one is in my office. Not looking to seel them, just curious the value.

Looked through some of the completed ebay listings and most shades alone ran between $80. and $125. each depending on type !! Might be a bit more for you since you have two matching shades !!
