Does the base seem touch up to you?

The whole thing looks a little too good to me !!  Especially if it is 1930`s which I doubt !!

Looks to me like someone had an old trophy, maybe horticultural, attached that shallow well and then married it with the moulded fruit. Painted it.

Looks like the paint is coming away between that well and the main body.

I was just interested. A while back someone posted a lamp that was similar, but more exspensive. I just felt it didn't look right on the base.

Yes, my first thought are those other people nuts for not researching before spending that kind of money.

Those are imported listings from ebay !! None I saw have bids !! If I were to buy one at all, there was one for $55. that was a metal bowl shaped base with the fruit on top !! That one might be good !!

but thats what people do....not everyone has a pc....and anyway....most will be impulse buys..with no time to research...even if they were inclined to do so in the first instance.......i,ve done it myself....bought something on a buy it now, thinking ...yes,this is cheap....only to find it cheaper on the next page,.....then i,d kick myself and utter a couple of obscenities...which i will refrain from repeating....for fear that ..they might mean something else on your side of the watter..... ;D

Bigwull,

I'm just the opposite. I've done without my whole life and can talk myself outta buying anything! Spending money on myself, or on something I merely "want", is not in my nature.

I have a lot of "things" lets call them, lol. So if I buy something it better be special.

my downfall is Toys...and the fact that my long suffering Avril never complains....This model cost me in excess,of $3000..it was over 5ft long and weighed 80kg, and was full radio controlled.but it was at a time when i was earning big money, and could afford it....at one point i,had nigh on $30,000 worth in my garage....

Wull,

All I can say is "WOW"!  Hubby has an affinity for radio controlled toys as well. But our bank account has never allowed for such purchases!

When i look back...I think to myself....{ must have had a screw loose or something....but i could,nt help myself...i was an obsessive buyer of big rc tanks....ships, etc,....i can remember bidding on a 1.6th scale Tiger, and i won it at 3200euro,s,...and it was in Germany,in a small town called Grima..which was close to the big POW castle Colditz...which is near Leipzig,..on the German/Polish border....i had to travel from my home which at the time was in Carnoustie, ..to Newcastle, then i took a ferry to Amsterdam, then drove to collect it,...it cost me over £750 in fuel and ferry costs, plus i was away for 6 days,...and Avril never once complained....but now that, i,m retired, and only have my pensions, Avril still works....as she,s 12 years younger than me,..i only have my smaller rc toys...and..in fact i,m going to an auction in about 6 hours time...where there is some model warships for sale,....but,i, won,t be buying for myself...i,ll be bidding on behalf of a friend who can,t be there,

these are my latest and last models....
