Title: Deruta dish or ?
Post by: gerspee on January 26, 2014, 11:27:55 AM
Just found this Big dish again in the house after years of no clue where the thing was  . But remember that I was looking for similar decorations so like some help with this . To me it looks a Italy made piece but not the real one . There's hardly no cracks  in the decoration and that's telling me it;s probably a replica .  Real would be nice off course  :)

I would say copy or in the style of. Someone making some slipware in that Deruta, Italian fashion. Lots of it being made from Italy through the Ionian Peninsula and into Greece.

I Also think it's a copy because I also have some real old pieces like delftware from the 17th century and age is to be seen on pottery . But it's still nice to know if copy where made and to see some similar dishes copy or the real with this decoration.
