Title: help identify antique chair
Post by: rusodva on January 30, 2014, 12:06:24 PM
I am trying to figure out if my grandmother's antique chairs are antique or vintage.
They seem to be a type of captains chairs with nice woodworking and they are very heavy and seem to be made of solid wood.

One thing that I have found is that they are similar to an Antique Windsor Smokers Bow Armchair Country Elm Captains Chair but it seems like the wood is much thinner on this one

I would be interested in any information about the chair that you can provide.

Thank you.

Yep, 50s colonial revival. Vintage, not antique. Worth maybe $15-$20 around here.

Same price here !! They were usually hard rock maple and good sturdy old chairs though !!
