Found this painting today but I have no idea who it is by or any information about it.
It is hand signed and dated by the artist. Numbered 4/400.
The signature is starting to fade and I cannot really make it out.
Does anyone have any info on this? Please comment asap so I know if I should pick it up or not.

Its a print,, not a painting !! Paintings are not numbered !! I guess it doesn`t say "limited edition" does it ?? Can you get a better pic of the signature !!~

No, that was best picture I could get of the signature. Like I said it was already hard to see.
Any ideas on what kind of art/piece this may be? I believe the name may have began with an 'S'.

Well, its obviously Native American style, look for New Mexico artists and from the states in that area !! Although the artist could be from other places, that would be a starting point !! Hopi, Pueblo, Navajo cultures is what it reminds me of !!
You might call an art gallery and see if they recognize the style !! Prints are usually sold over a wide area so even a gallery not in that area might know who the artist is !!

Try googling Native American Artists then click "images" you will get all kinds of pics !! Wouldn`t hurt to try ebay too !!

Yeah, I have been trying but cannot find this specific one. It does mimic folk art from the Hopi tribe though.
Would you recommend purchasing this piece for $8?

Did you buy it ?? I look at it this way $8. is a small amount to take a chance on !! Even if you only sell it for $20. its still profit !!

I actually just bought it for $6!
I took it out of the frame and it seems to be on picture/film paper, any idea what that means? It is still signed and numbered.
Out of the frame the colors are very vibrant!

The name I believe starts with "Son" or "Som". The rest I cannot really make out.
It is still numbered 4/400 and obvious Native American style.
If you could put a value on it, what would you say?

You mean its like a photo ?? Is there a last name and can you make any of it out,, even first letter ??

I think the paper it is on is just from being a print. I believe the first letter starts with an "S". The first three letters are either "Son" or "Som".
I tried uploading better pictures with it out of the frame but the site wouldn't let me for some reason.
