Title: Gilt Bronze or brass?

I can't tell if this is a gilt bronze or brass???

If they did gild the inside and the feet there would be wear on the feet from abrasion. It looks like brass to me because the color is so even. What is it anyway?

You can actually see brush markings on the bottom of the feet.  It is a Fu Dog lion.
