Title: Painting on glass... Ottman- Chinese- Persian????
Post by: benbenny on March 05, 2014, 03:23:59 AM
I have a few old items that I collected over the years but never really know much about them... I have a painting painted on glass (looks like old glass with some air bubbles inside and it's not perfect flat) and the back is covered with pieces of wood hold together to the frame with old nails with no heads ... I always thought the painting its ottoman but on the back there's a label with marks (looks like Chinese to me ) and that confuse me and I'm not a expert so I could be totally wrong...  Hope somebody can help me so I can give it a place....  thank you.

Hi, it seems that in China they made reverse glass paintings for the Indian market ( and it looks Indian to me), yours could be such a piece. That would be an explanation for the label on the backside. Regards, Mat
