Title: Unusual brass box, Turkish? Middle Eastern????

I just picked this up and I'm not sure exactly what it is .  Looks like it could have been used for incense maybe. Trying to figure put age too?  Any ideas?

Looks from pictures not that  old and maybe tourist item from a Arab Asiatic country ?

I think it may be from the 70's.
