It must be Italian.  They did a lot in leather bottles.

From what I found on google search it's french. There is one similar that's why I was asking.

I have never purchased cognac before and I can't say I've ever looked at their bottles before-can all liquors come in a leather container or is this just a cognac design?

That's an interesting site. I'm curious what they say. They should answer. Sorry the one I see is from Spain it's on eBay, but with this darn tablet everything is an app.

Sure looks like an older bottle but almost no way to see the bottle itself without the cover !! The leather looks older but that could be intentional to make it sell better !!

What I mean is the leather is covering the bottle itself !! From looking at the top and the closure,, I would guess 1940`s or so !!

It has a "bar code" label on the bottom ..... which means post-1984 or so.

The name would likely been on the neck band !! Maybe too expensive to have it done on the leather if an import piece !!

I was hoping that design would have been a clue on the leather itself, been searching on and off for a couple of days and nobody seems to have one just like it-which always gets me wondering is it really a liquor bottle?  Not a knock off=?  decorative piece:?

It does look like a tourist piece Cognac as we know only comes from that region of France everything else is Brandy. I had a similar item a few years back which had Sherry on it tooled into the leather again the bottle was removable. It came from Spain in the 90s.  It was new then ..
