Title: Chinese Brass Bowl

I recently purchased a brass bowl or urn with an etching on the bottom.  Not sure if it is Chinese or Japanese.  It was purchased in an antique shop in Annapolis Maryland and had been there for years hidden in a drawer.  I was interested in estimated value and what the etching may say.  Thank you.

It most likely tells where it was made !!  I can`t read it but others here may be able to !! Can you post a close up of the writing ??

Hi, my impression is that this is japanese, but that is just a "feeling". If you don't get any answers here, maybe you could try posting it on the Asian Arts Forum, there are some people who read Japanese. http://www.asianart.com/phpforum/index.php
