have a big necklace made out of red coral with a jade pendant.
I'm a bit confused
The necklace looks Tibetan and the pendant Mexican ????

Very interesting!  My thought is it is a simplistic Foo Dog.

I have looked at this several times and I agree with icedgold10.  Looks like the guardian Fu Dog to me.
