Hi, can anyone tell me the value of this pretty little plate. It is 6.5" in diameter. Mainly green and gold with a cherub on.It has a 'Beehive' stamp with 'Austria' underneath. Also a small letter 'h' on the back in gold too. Any advice would help. Many Thanks

It is a Royal Vienna mark but we would need to see the actual piece.

Frogpatch: How do I get the plate to you. Are you i the uk?? The picture I took of the front of the plate was too large to upload to this site. Can I e.mail it anywhere??
-
I've copped it a little to fit!

You should read up on the Royal Vienna bindenschild or beehive mark before sending it anywhere.
-
Hmm, I know nothing about this and have read up on it, but still very confused. !
-
There are a lot of fakes.

What are the impressed marks, Shelby ?
The colours don't look right to me for it to be genuine RV but i wouldn't completely write it off yet. Lots of these were produced in the far east and imported but this could be European with a beehive mark.

This item is an Asian repro as the Bindenschild ("banded shield") is upside down.
-
They're not the only place which does that.
-
Thanks Chris Marshall! Glad to still see you around.

They're not the only place which does that.
That is what the whole 'Bindenschild' (flat side up) and 'beehive' (flat side down) business is about. A premade mark stamp showing 'Austria' located under a BEEHIVE is an Asian fake.
We are not talking about German/French/other re-uses of the beehive/Bindenschild marking itself.
