Title: Chinese porcelain plate
Post by: Niels on May 02, 2014, 03:38:54 AM
Hi!
Any thoughts on this plate? My guess is that it's end nineteenth or beginning twentieth century China. It's decoration is different than most Chinese I come accross. Perhaps somebody knows the meaning of the characters?

thanks! niels

Hi, sorry, I cannot translate the writing or the seal. For some similar porcelain see the information om Koh-Antique: http://koh-antique.com/history/historyrepublican.htm . Maybe others can help you to read the inscription  :)

I am not sure it is that old. The red color seems indicating a much later period.

Thank you Mat! I wrote mr. Koh an email and he answered that the plate is a Republican period piece. The artist signed is Yi feng. Inscription indicated it was made for the buyer as a gift to a friend.
