Title: How old can this meditating Buddha be?
Post by: genesisvh on July 27, 2014, 12:38:54 PM
I have a large Buddha standing at 21" tall and about 15" wide and 10" in depth. It is made of bronze it is very heavy. I have not weigh the statue but it also looks like it has or had at one point gold leafing on it's head. How old would one think this statue could be and also what could be it's value? I'm including images of the item but I am limited to 4 images per post but I have more. I would like to thank in advance.

Ok so I found the type of Buddha this is and it is known as a 19 Century Bronze Shan Burmese Buddha.

PERIOD: 19th century

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:Mandalay , Burma

CONSTRUCTION: Bronze

Although mine at one point had gold leafing on it's head at least.
