Welcome!

Neat piece...but not really a sign. Actually it's a shipping or ownership stencil to be laid down on a wooden box or barrel head and brushed over with stencil ink. The subject matter would make this one more collectible.

Right yea I guess I really didn't mean "sign" , knew it was some sort of template. You think its worth anything more than scrap lol? Thanks for your input guys! Rick

Hi, Mill Creek.

It's tough with this, because Western Union Telegraph Co. existed in a pretty large span of time, so pin-pointing a date on this is tough.  How much would you get for it in scrap?  My suspicion is that someone would want this -- it's pretty cool, don't you think? What are the dimensions?

You could use the template to make your own repro signs and sell them on ebay if its big enough !!

I was thinking that too, Mart!  Shabby chic some benches, crates, whatever and stencil that on there...  :)

Old rusty barn tin,,stencil the sign but not too well, (it needs to look worn) drill a couple of holes at the top and use old baling wire to make a hanger !!

Mart, Do you want to compete in the Chinese knock off competition? Sounds like you would be good at it.
