Title: Pearl Necklace
Post by: Sette on May 20, 2005, 11:10:33 AM
I've recently inherited a pearl necklace.

16 inches long.
Yellow gold fittings (of high quality by the looks of it).
Pearl size: 11-12mm Diameter.
Cream Colouring.

Anyone have any idea on parl pricing at all?

Where's the best place to sell them? Or may another forum i can be referred to?

Thanks a lot of any help given.

Sounds lovely.  And you need to see your jeweler.  Luster, size, uniformity, all contribute to value.  Even if you posted a pic it would be difficult to appraise.  Costume jewelry is different - there are many sites devoted to high end brand-name/vintage costume and near/costume jewelry.  You may not need a formal appraisal either - a ball park value from a jeweler would be helpful.                KB

Well the jeweller said it was probably worth a few hundred at auction, I've decided to put it on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MESE:IT (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4998535873&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT)  ,hope someone gives me a good price for them.
