Title: Possibly Russian?
Post by: Vwdoyle on August 26, 2014, 11:58:26 AM
Hello,

I recently picked this up at an auction in a lot with som "Black Sambo" memorabilia.  Is there anyone who can help identify the language and possibly the title.  I would love to learn the history behind this but I'm not even sure what language it's in.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Did some quick research on your little old book ....

Looks to be a 1920's publishing from T-va M.O. Vol'f , St Petersburg/Moscow (S.Peterburg/Moskova) , Vwdoyle .

Uncle Toms' Cabin , AKA "Life Among The Lowly" was a favorite of Lenin , in his childhood , BTW .

Fancypants nailed it!  It is the Russian Version of Uncle Tom's Cabin - the Title translates into English "Shack Uncle Tom".
