Title: Could somebody help me to identify this!
Post by: Jade on September 17, 2014, 08:13:24 PM
Hi all,

I got a kind of coin from my grandfather and I don't know where and when it is made and I'm not sure it is a coin or not. Could somebody help me to identify the item. I attached the photos of item. Thanks.

Hi Jade;
It appears you have a English General Service military button that suffered an accident at sometime in its life. The rampant lion and unicorn are a clue, along with the crown between them. Too late tonight for me to think straight, but I seem to remember that during Queen Victoria's reign the crown did not have a surmounted lion above it. What size is it?
I'll try to look tomorrow for some information.
