What would this be called exactly? You turn it fast and let the strings swig to hit each side of the drum like thing. Thank you!! :D

Your little item is known as a 'damaru (or) damru' , valhom .

Sometimes known as the instrument of Shiva (by those into Hinduism) , used to generate spiritual energy (by those into Tibetan Buddhism) .

It is sort of 'spun' back & forth , between your two palms .
