Title: Date of manufacture figural vases Conta&Boehme
Post by: domine on November 01, 2014, 05:25:45 PM
I wish you a good day,

longer period of self-figural statue which is rather fancifully as a small vase. On the Internet I traced producer, Conta & Boehme.
At the bottom of the base is stamped serial number 8386, the manufacturer's logo and the letter "B".
I wonder how figural sculpture is old, whether it is an original work and possibly its value. The statue looks like it is hand painted, gold detail is dingy and generally lacks any glaze.
In its overall height of 5.11 inches (13 cm), weighs 203 grams. My lay opinion on the dating production is between 1850-1890
This information I gathered from Wikipedia and http://antiques-art-collectibles.com/collectible/ceramics/fairings.html

Below I dared attach externally uploaded photos.

Well as your article said Conta & Boehme did,`t mark their items untill late 1870`s !! So yours must date after that !! I think they started in the 2000 numbers and yours is 8386 so I am betting yours is from the 1920`s or early 30`s !! The figure itself would be of that era !! You see many from that time period from different makers that are similar !!
