Title: Need help with identifying these 2 tribal items
Post by: icedgold10 on November 18, 2014, 05:55:51 AM
One is made from the shell of a large nut and the other is stone of some sort and is a pendant.  Any information would be very helpful.

Could you tell us how you acquired them and where? I would have no clue about them but that info may help someone who does. Plus I wanted to bump up your post.

I got them at one of Maine Goodwills.  I know that offers no help at all.  One person I emailed said possibly South Pacific but, that leaves a wide area too. We do have a lot of Sudanese people that have moved into the area not sure if that helps.  Looks somewhat Native American the shell one.  The shell one is not extremely old probably just vintage.  The stone piece I think is a lot older?  Not sure what the stone is?

The small mask reminds me of some mayan mask I've seen.

I think the Mayan may be right.  Any idea on what kind of stone it may be?  It has a greenish to it in person.  Trying to figure out age too?
