Hello,
This is my post ever on a forum so please forgive me if I did it incorrectly.
I bought a wooden file box today at auction in NC. I loved the look of it but now am very curious as to what its purpose was and contents (and if I paid too much).
Thanks for all and any help!

Hello and welcome;
Offhand, I would say it's a watch crystal cabinet?
-
Wow, I never even thought about that..... I think you are right!!!!

Either watchmaker or jeweler !! Oh,, and welcome to the forum !!
-
You are awesome! It is a watch kit... just found hundreds more of the crystals under the shelving ... and this neat little case with 2 watch faces enclosed.. anyone have any idea on value?
-
What does it say ?? Can`t read it !! You mean those shiny things are crystals still in the box ?? I thought it was camera glare !! The crystals can be worth money as well as the faces !!

it says " elgin watch material" .. Here are 2/9 drawers. How do I tell if they are crystal?
