Title: Art Nouveau (?) Centerpiece
Post by: Niels on November 22, 2014, 08:39:06 AM
This is the second centerpiece I found. This one is also made of bronze with ceramic plates. Any idea where this was made and when? Repro or orginal? Thanks ! Niels

Beautiful epergne!  Definitely used as a centerpiece or would have a match for a large mantle!  These were extremely popular in 1700's to early 1900's.  The largest bowl section would hold pastries/food and the upper part would hold flowers.

Yours does look Art Nouveau.

Gorgeous coloring!

I'm located in Dordrecht, Holland. I found these at a local Bric-à-brac shop.

Yes it is. I'm lucky to life in a town with a lot of cool shops :-).

This is the link to the one where I've found them (http://www.pandora-dordt.com/Pandora.html). It's in Dutch but it gives you an impression. If you're ever in the neighborhood this is a cool place to go :-) (Huge 18th century merchant house stuffed with all kinds of interesting things).
