For whatever reason the person had it listed as an "amish trunk."
Based on some ebay searches it seems like it's possibly Chinese made,
I don't know much about antiques though. Measurements are 3' X 1 1/2' X 2' (guessing on the height)
Asking price is $125. Any infos/advice appreciated.

The pics are too dark to see much but I think you can discount the "Amish made" theory !! Did you take a pic of the inside ?? The latch hardware looks Chinese to me !!

Quite similar to this one !! I imagine you can find many styles of these chests !! He says its an older one but to an import company that could mean last year !!
But if you want it I would say the price is not too bad and its a nice chest !! I would offer $100. and see if he bites !!

I've had a couple of those carved chests dating back to the 50's - 60's, one being made / sold by George Zee Co. from Hong Kong. It should have a metal tag on the inside with the company name etc. in that case.

I must be a good negotiator, didn't say anything (fell asleep, actually) and they reduced it to $80.
