A lady on the Kovel site is looking for an appraiser in the upstate NY area for stained glass from around 1900 !! Her grandparents bought it at a customs auction in New York city !! Very nice landscape and looks to be similar to some I have seen that Tiffany made !! Also has a three paneled art piece done in roundels with the initials MHB in gold on the corner roundel with a crown above it !! Anyone know of a good art gallery or appraiser that is trustworthy in that area ??

She could start with the AAA site, and see if there is a member in her area.

Yes but she was hoping to find either a gallery or appraiser that someone has used and can recommend as honest and trustworthy !! I can see her point on that !! Kind like when looking for a doctor,,you can look in the yellow pages but that doesn`t mean they are good !!

I would send detailed photos & any information to Skinner Auction House http://www.skinnerinc.com/
Stained glass can be very valuable!

Here is the thread on the stained glass and art panels !! In case anyone wants to see them !!

mart the landscape piece is beautiful and needs to be seen by someone from a large gallery or auction house Thinking Like Christie's, would not trust it to just any appraiser, needs to be someone that specializes in glass or you could start at a local art museum.

Thanks Wendy !! That's more like I was thinking but needed someones expert eye !!
