Hi all I have a painting which states on the back fault, allowance made.
What does this mean?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Need to see it and the wording !! That sounds like an art school term !!

It's on the back under hanging string hook and is on the actual frame of painting hope pic is clear enough

Oh,, you mean its stamped on the frame of the Diaz painting !! What that would tell me is the frame they bought was a "second" !! Not unusual for beginning artists to use them,, they are much cheaper than the other frames and usually come packaged in 2 or 3 per package !! I used them when I was teaching beginning artists !! You have heard the term "starving artists" haven`t you ?? :D
They do not have a lot of money !!

Which price do u think I should list this at then?
I'm still no further forward on tracing the painting it is extremely beautiful tho

How much did you pay for it ??

It was given to me mart

Not sure how big it is but look on ebay and see what prices are of similar size and style by other artists !! Main thing is to look and see if any similar are selling at all !! Art by an unknown is difficult to sell !!
