Hey Jacon We are about an hour from Boston in Massachusetts. They are estimating 3 feet for our area! Would love to be in Charlotte for the next month lol! But this is nothing we haven't seen before, Blizzard of 78 power was out for a week!  Plenty of food, water, gas for the generator, batteries, flashlights, plows on the truck & bed is filled with sand. We Massholes are a hardy bunch! :)

Yikes @ Boston! Yep, you are gonna get hammered if weather man is correct. I actually like snow the first day, it's very soothing watching it fall plus it muffles sound so very quiet, after that though, noooooooooooooooooo ooooooo, it gets dirty and just painful.

Blizzard of 78 power was out for a week!

Actually, i got a VERY GOOD deal on a 1730 Boston gateleg table in 2011? i think, why? because new england was shut down from another snow storm and no one could get online to bid because no power!

Hi Wendy,

I am right in the eye of this blizzard in the Boston-Plymouth Area. They think we might get 60 to 70 mile an hour winds on the coast.  Thankfully, most people around here still remember the blizzard of 78 so they tend to stay home and off the roads.  With the timing the meteorologists are predicting there should not be a rush hour drive home like in 78.  Many businesses have already cancelled work for tomorrow.  I am a school teacher and early this morning they sent out notices and cancelled school for tomorrow.
My family also has a home on the Cape so I hope the storm surge won't be to high.

Well, in watching the Times Square live snow cam @ 1.29 a.m. Tues morning, you see a few people wandering around but no cars driving
http://www.nbcnews.com/watch/live-video/watch-live-new-york-city-snow-cam-322484291648

Just checked cam again, blizzard better hurry up, it doesn't seem to be doing much at 6 a.m.!

Cool pic of front door, so you still have power, thats a plus! Looks like someone is gonna have the olde snow shovel out soon! How many inches? Looks like 3 feet or so.

Thankfully Jacon it is very light and as of 6:00pm we had 30" but still snowing, Estimated to stop around 1:00am. No loss of power so this storm so far has been a piece of cake :)

My house:  Finally dug out.   The huge pile of snow you see WAS 3 parking spaces in front of my condo.
You can see my green car for height.   I probably will not have the parking spaces back until April.

All that talk about NYC expecting the greatest snowfall ever was a lot of "fearmongering" boloney, to wit:

We expected 18 to 20 inches here at the Jersey Shore. We wound up with about 8. This was what I saw when I opened the door. Snowy red cedar trees.

I must say that all that snow is pretty.  We don't get it very often here in Texas...we generally get ice storms with drifts 3' to 5' (remember that last year Mart?).

I know it can be rough and alter everyday life and are so thankful that all of you are safe!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures!
