I feel sure I saw a post a few weeks back with this same wings badge but I can not now find it. Anyway it jogged the old grey cells and I knew I had the same badge on a cigarette lighter from years back. Its taken a few weeks to locate it but if anyone remembers or know what this badge is I too would be pleased to know. I have a feeling its probably an American manufacturer for aero engines such as Pratt and Whitney but not sure.

I do not remember those wings from here !!
-
Don't remember one like this either. Remember there was a question about patches.
Is that a pilot with pilot cap on in the center? What brand of lighter?
-
The lighter is a Ronson Whirlwind and not significant to the badge as I remember sticking the badge on to it many years ago. Pilot in flying helmet in the centre of a Radial engine hence my Pratt and Whitney idea.... If it was not here cant think where I saw it its no big deal anyway.

Had my boyfriend, a pilot, look at it before your last post. He said it looked like it was added to the lighter which you confirm. He also said that if it was Pratt Whitney it would of had a PW on it somewhere. He thought it was just a generic set of wings. They often gave a set of wings to children when they went on early airline flight.

Showed to hubby (Int'l Captain) and he said it reminds him of ones that engine companies would make and give away.
So, I looked and found that Wright did make pins with radial engines but couldn't find one like yours.
Still looking.

Oh...so you are being unfaithful and seeing another forum behind our backs (like mart..)???? :)
-
Sorry ;D but it may have been an aviation forum as I am a former aviator.
Belay that just been through all my history it was on Ebay but they have obviously been sold as not showing now. However here is a pair of wings I dug out of one of my boxes. Obviously a give away by the Consolidated Company as previously discussed. Shown with a pair of Liaison Pilot wings for scale. I will put a seperate post with som more of my wings collection ;)
