Hi All,
I was hoping for your help and advice regarding the value of a fireplace, which we have inherited in our new home. It is Cast iron as has the imprint "The Richmond" on the back. There is also something else imprinted but I cannot make out what it is. Unfortunately, this is all the information I have but hopefully the pictures should help.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading your replies.

Can you try to take a pic of the words you couldn`t read ?? The Richmond is likely only the model name,, foundry would probably be the other part !! Might try sprinkling flour or cornstarch on the letters then wipe across to bring theletters out so we can see them !! What is your location ??

I will definitely try this tomorrow and post a pic. I am in Iver, Buckinghamshire (UK). I have really struggled to find anyone who is able to advise me on this so this is my last port of call. Thank you for your reply. I hope the flour works!

Saw several others also from the UK !! Just needed to know where to look !! Thanks and welcome to the forum !!

I have tried me best with the flour but there seems to be an art to it which I do not possess! Unsure whether the photos will shed any light. I have taken the pics with and without the flash on as wasn't sure if that would make a difference.

Can you find yours here ?? I did not check each one !!

Unfortunately it's none of them.

Have you tried doing a rubbing? (Put paper over and rub with the side of a crayon, etc.)

Do you want a value in order to sell the fireplace ?? If so,,knowing who made it is not necessarily going to help !! You need to know the style which you could see from my link and the selling prices now !! Its basically the same Victorian/Art Nouveau fireplace as in the pics ,, about 1920 or so !!
