I purchased this large uranium art glass bowl at the TS yesterday and have looked without success on the internet for one like it.
The bowl is made of uranium glass and has a few birds (maybe ducks or geese) some fish and what looks like a small fish or something in the center of the bowl that all the birds and fish are going after.
The bowl looks to me to be early 1900's perhaps Art Deco period but I'm not positive.
The bowl measures about 13 1/2" in width, 2 3/4" in height and weighs about 4 3/4 pounds. There are no maker marks on the bowl that I can make out within the patterns or anywhere else.
Can anyone identify the pattern, the maker of the bowl, where it was made and/or the time period it was made?
Thanks!
Kevin

I just read the news story about the guy that paid $6 for watch at the TS...and resold it for $35,000! I fully expected to see it was someone named Kevin. :D

Wow frogpatch, you identified it, thanks! After searching more based on your ID it looks like it may be a Verlys Wild Duck Bowl by Heisey in Satin Limelight Uranium Glass, Circa 1955 - 1957

Thanks KC, I enjoy researching an item just as much as finding them. Will you both be attaching an audio file or will it be a virtual scream? :)
I am moving north !! ;)
It's been very cold here lately, may want to wait until spring mart.
Are you sure it is not French Verlys?
frogpatch, I don't see any signature anywhere. I would rather it be French Verlys.

Thanks Pelady, I think that's a good article.

Mart, don't move north today. I just drove from Maryland to Philadelphia. Normally it's an hour and forty minutes 4 and a half hours of ice and snow. So bad I'm shaking my head. Come around Easter. ;D

May be like that here tomorrow !!

Be safe. They didn't even plow. I told my niece I felt like I was in a toboggan at one point!
