Hi,
Our local Historical Society is having a fundraiser in March and wants to raffle off a basket of cheer. Being a Historical Society, an antique container rather than a basket would be more suitable. Any suggestions on what antique can be used in place of a basket? Dynamite crates have been suggested but most seem too small.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron
PS: If you have something laying around that may work well, by all means, would love to discuss it.

I've seen an old safe used, old wicker clothes basket, vintage luggage, antique steamer trunk, etc.
Where are you located and what was a main industry there in the past?

Old picnic baskets are pretty easy to find. They are great for keeping papers hidden away afterward

How about a "bucket of cheer"? ;D ;D
There are all types of buckets from wood to cast iron, ... in all sizes from quarts to bushel ..... with most having historical roots and collectible value.

Everyone seems to find a use for a nice copper wash boiler.
