Title: Italian Photo Frame

Hi all! I bought this small frame today and was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it. I was planning to take the photo/print out of it and use it for one of my old photos, but that depends on what I find out about it.  ;)

I've provide a photo next to a dollar bill for size reference. And close ups of the markings on the back. One obviously says "Made Italy". The other looks like just "MA), and it's on the back on the top left of the frame.

Could be one of two things,, someones souvenir from a trip to Italy, or was purchased at the international exposition at a state fair !!  No hallmarks to indicate silver although it may have a thin plate !! The picture is most likely done on paper !! I think its quite pretty as it is !!
