looked online an the only thing i can find is
Lawrence Deller
M, #6350, b. 4 February 1889, d. 18 November 1918
Lawrence Deller was a professional artist, and for religious reasons a conscientious objector. The reaction to conscientious objectors by the tribunals set up to vet their claims was not consistent, and was sometimes very hostile.
thank you in advance

Well, we do know that the one on Artnet isn't likened to yours because the description states that it is a "Half Length Portrait of a Young Woman wearing A Green Foliate Headband"! It is an Oil on Canvas.
Am I correct that your piece is a sketch with charcoal?
By the signature it shows 1913?
Am I correct that you are in the United Kingdom?
-
Hi KC
the drawing is in either a heavy pencil or charcoal
i am from the UK and the date near the signature is 1913
-
My daughter informed me that it is most likely sketched with graphite instead of charcoal because that was the medium of wide use back in that time!
-
Its a pretty common thing when painting people to have many sketches and various poses before the work is begun !! Lots of those are eventually framed !!
-
KC, I was just saying his works were mostly church's. I guess I didn't explain that well enough.😊
-
From what I can see I would agree with you on that greenacres.
-
I can`t see either link !!
-
I don't know why.
