Could any body tell me what these are please, they  were my late Aunts, I had  thought paper clips but cannot see  anything like them on the internet?

Hello and welcome;
You are right about them being a paper clip...sometimes called "Letter Clips". Back when people would actually sit down and write a letter or two, these were used to make sure the finished product didn't get lost in desktop clutter.
