Title: Old oil can thing?

I think it's an oil can maybe idk what is it. The can on top comes off and the bottom is a oil lateen of some sort to hear what ever was in the top thing What did they use it for? Help!!!!!

This reminds me of an old vaporizer!  They typically had alcohol burners to heat the water/medicines and put them into a vapor for the patient.

Thank you KC!!! That's exactly what it is now I can sleep finally knowing what it is. It is a atlas steam vaporizer!!!
