Title: Questions about 2 things I got in a "Cigarette Silk" auction lot
Post by: rustyattic on June 07, 2015, 10:00:29 PM
I got a nice lot of old cigarette silks from an auction.  Most of them Nebo or Zima.  These 2 pieces were in the lot.  Is the flag one, just an uncut silk sheet?  It doesn't look like several pieces stitched together.   (22" x 22")
Is the second one just a print on tapestry?  I'm not sure what to call it in a listing. (about 16" x 10")

I bought a stitchery of tabacco silks a few years ago. Mine are all actresses from the early 1900s. Mine are all stitched together. If yours are all printed on a single sheet I would guess they are uncut from the factory.
