Title: Finding a good book conservator online?
Post by: Skinny on June 22, 2015, 05:49:28 PM
I have an old 3/4 leather book that needs to be rebacked. There are lots of bookbinders online. You send them your book and pay them and they do the work. BUT....How do you know if they are legit, and won't just steal your money? Has anyone used one they could recomend?

I would suggest contacting your local library or antique book store for recommendations who they use and costs.

I agree !!  Do not send it to just any one !! Do it locally if possible !!  A museum or even an art gallery could give you names to check !!
