Title: Old Arm Chair (pictures posted here now)
Post by: Bobbiejoe101 on June 28, 2015, 06:43:06 AM
I am hoping that someone might know something about this arm chair. Time period would be a big help. Anything is more information than what I have.
I linked my pictures.

Would it be better if I uploaded pictures here?

The people that gave me this have seen it in pictures from the '60s.

The family have been cleaning out their parents home now that they both have passed away.

Nobody wanted or had room for this chair. They asked if I wanted it. Said that if I didn't want it they would be setting it out for trash.
It is a little difficult to get a good picture in this house.

Well,,if you mean 1960`s,,no,, it is not from that era !!  Early 1940`s is more in keeping with the style !!

1930-1940s in the time I was thinking. They said that they had a picture of their aunt sitting in the chair in the 1960's.
It is sickening to think of the chair being set out for trash.

Well,, the price was good !!  A little upholstery and a coat of Old English dark will work wonders !!  Not an expensive chair but still worth saving !!

They told me that their mother upholstered it herself. There is a terrible built-up on the arms. Looking at the back of the chair you can see that it had many home upholstery jobs performed on it.
No way it belongs in a dump!!
