Title: 2 Buddha statues
Post by: KORU on July 21, 2015, 08:04:44 AM
These 2 Buddhas were bought in Tibet last year.

Can it be real statues? Can somebody identify?

First one, with sword, is suspicious in the behind part of the flower...

Second one is made of silver (not sure), looks like a very fine work, but not sure if it is old...

Hi, they are real statues, but new, I think. The one with the sword is not a buddha, but a bodhisattva  called Manjushri. The other one could be Amitabha buddha. Could you show pictures of the bottom?

Yes, you are correct. These are real statues but not old. It seems like they are newly crafted.

I think they were both made within the last few years. I would guess they were crafted in Nepal rather than Tibet.
