Anyone able to make out the signature? I know it says Kenya 1973, lol. The frame measures approx. 15" x 19". Thank you so much. :D

Could it be "Eshtaol?" There's a movie by that title from Ethiopia.

I have some friend who grew up in Kenya and asked them if they perhaps recognized the signature. Her response was "is a Batik,I do not recognise artist. A lot of people started to do Batiks,emulating a well known artist, Robin Andersen,daughter of a well known doctor in Nairobi.Her work was expensive and very lovely. She also designed many of the lovely Kenyan stamps. But this is not Robin,unfortunately. I have still a few Batiks,done by less well known artists..it is very time consuming work. I will see what I can come up with". Will let you know if she finds anything.

Llontario thanks for the insight. Hadn't thought about a batik being framed. Thought they meant a canvas.

What is the matter with this site now?
It was fine 3 days or so ago ..... but now it spreads the "data" down 3, 4 or 5 screen pages and displays all the imbedded "links" and other crapolla.
So if anyone reads this and has an explanation then send me an E-mail because I am not going to try to find a posted response.
