Hi all me again haha so I bought these 2 desks today for 45 I actually bought them to paint up but when they arrived I realised they were special. There very heavy wood . Dovetails on joints and each drawer is carved on bottom with numbers ? Iv never seen a matching pair can anyone give me ANY info pls x x

You paid what ?? Don`t think I read correctly !! You can get an idea of value above but its a UK site !! Quite possible your desks are from the UK !! I would say late 1800`s !! Hope you decide against painting them !! Nice pair,, do not think I have seen a matched pair !!

PLEASE don't paint these davenports!!
I'd say they're both walnut ca. 1870. Beautiful!
I'd also say they're worth about $800-$1200 each U.S.

Ghoppers value is about what I would expect here in the U.S. !! I would love to have found a deal like that !! It would be difficult to find a matched pair from that era again !! Great buy !!

Agree, DO NOT PAINT if you want them to retain their value!

Oh no I definatly won't paint now I thought they were maybe repro due to price but a lot of thing are telling me no x x

Can you please post pictures of the back of the desks and and a picture of the UNDERSIDE of one (PLEASE get someone to assist you so you don't so any harm to these beauties).
