I can`t make it out !! It would have little to do with the maker of the stein itself !! The lids and steins were made by different mfrs !!

Given that steins can be found dating back centuries, this one isn't so old.

I'd say it's 1970s-80s, judging by the thumb rest. Not worth a lot....maybe $20 or so.

You have the initials of the owner!  Looks like MD.  Not unusual for one to have received one as a gift.  For the older steins this wasn't unusual to take one's stein to the local pub for a round with the buds.

Is the lid painted or does it have a porcelain inset?

Looks like its painted KC !!  Saw some scuffs and missing paint when I enlarged it !!  Pic looks like the One-Stroke method of the 80`s/90`s !! Donna Dewberry and Priscilla Hauser style !!

Hi, I think it has a porcelain or ceramic inlay that was painted, as you can see on one point the white ground where the black paint has come off. My feeling is that this could be a  it older, maybe around 1900, mainly because of the lid. I think there existed already pressed glass beer steins back then. But I am not an expert or collector of these. However it is rather a not so special example. Mat
