I just purchase this antique Asian art piece. Is it a painting or ink art? It was from Abraham & Strauss Brooklyn. I know they used that name between 1846 & 1929. They also did sell some real art. Is it Chinese or Japanese? Any information would be helpful. Thank you

Is this on paper or material?
By-the-way, glad to see you on here! 😃

It's on paper.

Looks Japanese to me! Could you post a sharper pic of the inscription in the left corner and of some details?

Here is a closer picture. I hope this is better. Thank you.

It looks to be 1920s and influenced by western illustration techniques.

Yes, and it seems to be a woodblock print rather than a painting. I still have problems to make out the signature...

The signature is very faint. They probably trimmed the print so you cant see boarders. It has an interesting vibe. If you click on the picture it blows it up pretty well.

Yes, I tried that, but the signature is still not very clear. I like your print, I find it interesting, too. I will continue to search a bit, maybe I can find the artist...
