Title: Spanish brazier
Post by: gclayton on December 03, 2015, 04:10:12 PM
Hi

First post here - hello!

We have this thing that we were told is a "16th century Spanish Brazier".

The only thing we can find online is a picture of one that looks identical from an auction on Christies of london website. So would love to find out anything we can about it.

Many thanks!

A brazier is a container that is made to hold hot coals/ashes.  Used for warming rooms, cooking and even culture/religious ritualism.

Are there any markings to prove it's origin?  This shape and material type was commonly used in middle east, Mongolia, etc...  Hammered bottom.
